About TAMA

T.A.M.A. is the acronym for Tahoe Anime & Manga Association. The group was officially founded in October 2000 and became a club at Lake Tahoe Community College in February 2001. It was founded originally by a small group of friends who saw one too many episodes of Geobreeders.

While we don't all agree what constitutes good anime (I'll never really get into Magic Knight Rayearth, while others will never understand why I like Vampire Miyu), we have fun watching all forms of it. Since there are a lot of girls in the club, we do watch a lot of shoujo stuff. But never fear! There are guys and they demand to watch stuff that doesn't overload them with pink cuteness. We also watch a lot of comedy. I mean a lot.

As for manga, I can't speak for the others, but I love reading it. At first, I was a little put off by the way it's written (like a Calvin & Hobbes Sunday Strip--not always easy to follow its direction), but I really enjoy it now. (Although I get strange looks if I read it in certain places.)

If you live in or near Tahoe and love anime or manga, TAMA is for you. For more information, please read the F.A.Q. and feel free to e-mail us at Vchan@fushigiyugi.com.
